The pastor's wife at the church we've been attending is the director of the crisis pregnancy center in town and she told me to come in for an ultrasound sometime as they like to have "models" come in when they don't have regular clients scheduled so I got to have another ultrasound this week. That's #3 so far. It was so much fun. The baby was moving all over the place and scratching its head. It was also sucking it's thumb or drinking water possibly because you could see it's mouth moving (like a baby when they are sucking). The girl that did the ultrasound tried to see if it was a boy or girl, but couldn't tell because the baby had its legs crossed and the umbillical cord was between it's legs. The next one is in March so hopefully we can see then.

Flat Kalyn & Snow

My 8 year old sister, Kalyn, has been reading Flat Stanley at school and each student sent a "Flat ____(Kalyn)" to different parts of the world. We had to write about Flat Kalyn's activities at our house and then mail her back. In Kalyn's book, she told us how she became flat (she was playing and the TV fell on her) and she made sure to give us instructions not to let Duke or Roxy rip her up.

1. Snow in TN = rare.

2. Any snow that covers the ground = very rare.

3. Snow that lasts for 3 days = extremelyl rare.

Results: School is cancelled for 4 days, half the town shuts down, stores run out of milk, bread & apparently PopTarts.

This view looked rather normal to us.

Duke & Roxy didn't mind the snow.

The next day it got warm so quickly in the morning that all the snow and ice melted off the trees within 2 hours and it looked like it was raining in our backyard for 2 hours straight from everything melting so quickly. Something I've never seen before. The ice falling on our roof from the trees above made me wonder if the roof might fall in.

We thought it was a bit of a joke when they were handing out jackets at the entry. We soon learned that there was a reason for the beautiful, blue coats as it was freezing inside - I think it was less than 10 degrees. Guess they have to keep the ice frozen somehow when it's 50 - 60 degrees outside.
